Car computer powered by RPI and HiFiBerry

By Tim Lister / Website

My Honda Civic’s AV innards ripped out and replaced with a Raspberry Pi and HiFiBerry for HQ audio hooked up to two separate amps in the trunk. Software includes Debian with a customized Kodi skin on top. Fun features included GPS with NavIt, ODBII integration, steering wheel control integration, and a usb hub in the center console to auto mount and play music from usb sticks. FLAC playback for days thanks to the HiFiBerry =’D.

Which parts where used for this project?

Raspberry Pi 2 B HiFi Berry with RCA Out Carnetix DC powered USB hub DC-DC adapters to power the pi with relay wired to switches in dash. KODI on Debian MapIt USB Serial ODBII reader Bunch of MDF board and two decent amps and speakers =D.

Do you have a guide available that allows others to build this?

Anything else you like to tell us about your project?
