Deploying a new Linux kernel onto a Raspbian based system

The use the input functionality of the DAC+ ADC, you will need to update the Linux kernel to at least version 4.18.12. The kernel currently used on Raspbian is still 4.14 (November 2018).

To update your Raspbian to the new kernel version, you need to do the following:

  • update the software on the Raspberry Pi to the latest version
  • download a new Linux kernel compiled by us
  • extract the files to the correct system directories
  • adapt /boot/config.txt to use the new kernel
  • reboot
    • We have created a small script that will do all this for you.
      To run the script, just copy/paste the following to your command line:
