How to establish a SSH connection with a Raspberry Pi

Microsoft Windows

  1. Download and install Putty.
  2. Establish the IP address of your Rasbperry Pi.
    – Log in into your router.
    – Go to DHCP clients list.
    – Search for your Pi and note down the IP address.
  3. Launch Putty.
  4. Enter the IP address and click Open.
  5. Click Yes to store the key in your local registry.
  6. Provide user login.
  7. Enter password.

MacOSX

  1. Establish the IP address of your Rasbperry Pi.
    – Log in into your router.
    – Go to DHCP clients list.
    – Search for your Pi and note down the IP address.
  2. Start Terminal.
  3. Enter ssh login@ip_address -p 22 ssh volumio@10.0.0.149 -p 22
  4. Type in yes to establish connection.
  5. Enter password.
