Build a replacement for your old Squeezebox

Unfortunately Logitech stopped manufacturing the Squeezebox, though many people are still using it. If your Squeezeboox doesn’t work anymore, you can’t easily replace it with a new one. However, the good news is that you can easily replace it by a Raspberry Pi/HiFiBerry combinations.

Get the hardware

You need a Raspberry Pi, a HiFiBerry DAC+, SD card, power supply and probably a case. The easiest way is to select these components from our bundle configurator.

Install the software

We recommend HiFiBerryOS because it already comes with the required software and it will automatically detect your HiFiBerry DAC. There are also other distributions as Max2Play or PiCorePlayer that can also act as a squeezebox.

Have a look at HiFiBerryOS setup guide, it’s juts a few easy steps.

Enjoy

That’s it. You’re ready to enjoy your music.
