How it all started

7 Years ago, in November 2013, we shipped the first HiFiBerry DAC boards. At this time, it was still very DIY: You not only had to add the connectors to the HiFiBerry DAC, but also you had to add a 8-pin header to the Pi itself.

The HiFiBerry DAC was the first board available on the market that allowed high-quality audio playback on the Raspberry Pi.  Even today, from time to time we hear from users that use this first board.
